Combining real events with fictional material and improvisation, Névoa blurs the boundaries between drama and documentary. A film about feelings of obsession and helplessness, family ties and Psychoanalysis.

Névoa follows its protagonist Madalena, a young actress in Lisbon, as she navigates her day to day life and problematic personal relationships. Madalena attends weekly sessions of Psychotherapy with her therapist Dr. Amado. Driven by an obsession to discover more about his life, (and perhaps to avoid introspecting on her own), she begins following him outside of their sessions, becoming particularly intrigued by Dr Amado’s meetings with an unknown girl of approximately the same age as her. Her therapy comes to a head when Madalena challenges Dr. Amado about these meetings, and is forced to reckon with her own reality.
